“Professor? How long must we do this?” A
small chipmunk pup says,
his little paws tired.
“You will stop
Only when you roll that leaf correctly
and get it fully in your mouth”
the Professor says,
“I will demonstrate again.”
The Professor snatches the leaf away and begins to
roll it like a cigar
The leaf becomes tight, just before it’s breaking point
With a swift movement, he jostles the cigar shaped leaf
into his mouth
“Now, as you can see” he says, “your mouth is
your satchel. You carry your whole life in here.
And notice how I have a full sized leaf in my mouth
and you can still understand me perfectly.”
He spits out the leaf.
“Try it again, Mr. Scarboro.”
